Undoubtedly, all true believers are convinced that the entire Word of God has been fulfilled thus far and will continue to be fulfilled. Nevertheless, many struggle with the significance of the Old Testament (e.g., the Law of Moses), especially when it comes to applying it in everyday life. The risen Lord Jesus Christ made a decisive statement of principle to his disciples in this regard.
In Luke 24:44, the Lord indirectly mentions that the entire Old Testament (the five books of Moses, the prophets, the psalms, etc.) ultimately speaks of only one person, namely the Lord Jesus Christ (and His actual church). This fact places great demands on every reader and practitioner of the Word of God. In plain language, it means applying every single statement in the Old Testament, especially the Law, to the Lord Jesus Christ in a Spirit-led way. What this means in concrete terms is carefully explained using the concept of the "Sabbath." If the "Sabbath" ultimately speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ, then observing the "Sabbath" will do us absolutely no good – on the contrary, we will lose the LORD!
Among other things, the "mystery of (the) Christ" was revealed to the apostle Paul. According to this, "Christ" is a highly mysterious entity consisting of a single head and a multi-membered body called the (global) church of Jesus Christ. If the entire Old Testament speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ and is fulfilled in Him, then logically this also applies to all His members. This fact has massive consequences for every single person in Christ. It affects both everyday practical life and practical church life. This is impressively demonstrated by the so-called "commandment of circumcision."
In conclusion, several wonderful conclusions can be drawn. For example, all the remaining prophecies of the Word of God will be fulfilled in a compelling logic, just as they have already been fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. Or the "prophetic word" will become even more important with each passing day. Those who grasp and implement the profound spiritual implications of this theme will become a bright shining light in heaven, a powerful salt, will have absolutely no reason for fear or worry, will have a safe refuge in the LORD, will experience the total peace of God, etc., etc.
